STILLNESS BEFORE GOD

One of the most important things we can learn in this day and hour is how to be still.

I believe that one of the significant reasons so many of us are burned out and stressed out is that we don't know how to be still. We don't really know God and do not acknowledge Him. And it's only by spending time getting to know Him that we learn to hear His still, small voice so that He can direct our paths.

We need to learn to be quiet on the inside and stay in that peaceful state so that we are always ready to hear the Lord's voice. Many people today run from one thing to the next. Because their minds don't know how to be still, they don't know how to be still in their heart.

If we'll just slow down and quiet our minds enough to hear His promptings, we can live in a place of peace, ready to respond obediently. It is easy to see that leading a peaceful, happy life, free from exhaustion and burnout, is not all that complicated, as long as we remain still before God.

Psalm 46:10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.

Prayer Starter: Lord, I recognize that You alone are God. I know that stillness before You is important, so show me how to remain settled and peaceful inside, always ready to hear Your voice.

WALK WITH BOLDNESS

Some people exude boldness, while others struggle with living boldly as a loved child of God. I had that problem until God showed me some important keys that helped me live boldly, and I want to share them with you.

1. Refuse to live in fear. Fear is an epidemic in our society. The Bible instructs us in Hebrews 10:38 to live by faith and not draw back in fear.

2. Put setbacks behind you. You are not a failure because you try new things and they don't work out. You fail only when you stop trying. Don't be afraid to make mistakes, and if you do, recover quickly and press on.

3. Don't draw comparisons. Boldness will be impossible as long as you compare yourself to others. Boldness comes from accepting who you are and being the best you can be.

4. Be willing to take action. Search your heart and ask yourself what you believe God wants you to do, and then do it.

Pray over these four keys, and ask the Holy Spirit to help you live them out. Hold up your head and be filled with boldness.

Proverbs 28:1 The wicked flee when no one pursues, But the righteous are bold as a lion.

Prayer Starter: Holy Spirit, I want boldness to be one of my defining traits. Help me to live out these four keys by Your strength.

SCISSORS, MARKER & PAPER

Suddenly, I was reminded to share this story that I've told to my Sunday School students. A story about scissors, marker & paper.

Scissors: "I am ugly. Made of steel and often hurt people."
Marker: "I am too skinny. Produce intense color and weird smell."
Paper: "I am too thin. Too weak. When the winds blow I can't stay still."

But did you realize that we can't compare scissors, marker and paper since they all have different purposes? Have their own + and - ? But when they are working together as unity and focus with their talents. They can produce beautiful pictures with an amazing shape and gorgeous color.

I feel that's how exactly we are. We are comparing our self with others too much. And now we know, we can't compare our self with others since all of us have different purposes, different struggles & different talents. But when we are working together as unity and and focus with our talents (gifts), I believe we will create something AMAZING & SPECTACULAR.

So let's make the most of each day & maximize each gift that God gave. Have a great day, lovelies!

Psalm 139:14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works,  and that my soul knows very well.

BEING RESTFUL

Nowadays, I must admit it is so hard to being restful. Not only physically but also mentally. From bunch of work, overtime at workplace, taking care of your husband/wife/kids/parent, worrying about future, worrying about financial, etc without realizing we became restless and consumed by this world.

Today, I want you to take a minute to read this post and take time to meditate.

Galatians 5:1  It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Pay attention to the word of "slavery". I believe this word in this verse doesn't talk about physical only. But it's talking about mental & mind slavery too. When I read this verse, it reminds me about my mind battle. How I worried too much, try to please everyone, scared for things that may not happen, hard to let go the past, try to organizing plans for next day before I go to bed. Yes it seems nothing wrong with planning stuffs for tomorrow. But, as soon as I'm planning it in my head, the list keep going on. Start from cleaning my room, doing laundry, send email to clients...bla bla bla... Then I will go deeper, okay for cleaning room I need to clean all those papers, mopping, throw out the trash. And for doing laundry I need to separate which one I will wash by hands. For email I need to re-size the files first then preparing this and that then send it to them... bla bla bla... and it will be never ending list. At the end, I got so tired thinking how many work are waiting to be done. Feels like 24 hours is not enough *sigh. Sounds familiar, eh?

It doesn't take big problem to make ourselves running away from God. Actually little things does. Slowly we get carried away with life, consume with so many responsibilities and world's needs till we forget to spend time with Him, being thankful and total restful in Him.

Back to Galatians 5:1 clearly written that God has set us free. So, if E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G already DONE by Him at the cross, why we are trying our to do stuffs that have been WON? Like worrying about future, scared to take a new step, haunted by the past, never ending struggles, etc.

I'm telling you, it is totally done in the cross my friends. All we need to do is just laid back, enjoy God's love & what He has prepared for us. Yes there will be responsibilities that must be meet, works to be done and problems to be taken care. But, we need to remember that we shouldn't burdened ourselves trying to do everything by our own strength. Do our best and let Him do the rest. By that, we'll start being thankful & restful in Him. It is the time for you and me to become free & restful in Him
